Galveston was devastated by a hurricane in 1900. A century later, the Galveston 1900 Storm Memorial was dedicated on the seawall overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. The memorial survived another major hurricane in 2008.

Opposite the long mural on Hoefgen Street is another shorter mural that is in the sun during the early part of the day. Both sides of the street near downtown San Antonio have gotten new murals from time to time. This is from the end of 2019.
